To set the scene, I thought I’d share this brief history of my past Christmases before I reveal whether Santa thought I’d been a good enough girl to enjoy a happy Christmas this year…
My Christmas experiences have been a bit of a mixed sack of gifts over the years to be honest, so I had no idea what to expect…

The reason the lower half was still lit up was because that string was battery-operated. During the day the lights dimmed due to cheap batteries from Poundland.
Seriously though, what are the chances of your Christmas tree lights failing on Christmas morning?

I wish I’d had my camera when these birds rose up out of the trees. It was such an unexpected spectacle. And I don’t want to sound cheesy, but when they flew across the sky and showed me the moon, it was a true Christmas gift from nature, with perfect timing, as the sun was setting on a rotten day.

Withdrawal has been horrible. It’s difficult to describe, but maybe this image says all that needs to be said about it.
Thankfully, I was feeling a little more myself by 2026…
