When you struggle with anxiety and overstimulation because of a mental health disorder, working from home can help, but changes to your norm can be distressing and trigger your symptoms.
I wrote this LinkedIn post when I was mentally preparing myself to travel into the enormous office at my new job, so that IT could help me to get set up on my snazzy company laptop.Â
They sent it to me via courier because I work remotely, but it decided to make enemies with my slow home internet connection during my first week, which meant I couldn't upload all the nuts and bolts.Â
I had tried my best to avoid having to travel into the office (not only because it was over three hours each way on the train, but also because I didn't want to feel like a fish out of water).
Alas, I had no choice.
You'll be fine girl, just don't forget anything.Â
– Laptop – check!Â
– Train tickets – check!Â
Why do I feel like there's something else...?
